The company in brief

Venture Whisky is a Japanese whisky company founded by Ichiro Akuto. It is best known for establishing and operating the Chichibu Distillery in Saitama Prefecture. The company was created to continue the legacy of Japanese whisky production, particularly after the closure of the Hanyu Distillery, from which Ichiro Akuto salvaged remaining whisky stocks. Venture Whisky has gained international recognition for its high-quality, small-batch whiskies.

Timeline

2004 Ichiro Akuto established Venture Whisky Co., Ltd. to continue his family's whisky legacy and manage the remaining Hanyu stocks.
2007 Construction of the Chichibu Distillery, Venture Whisky's own production facility, began in Saitama Prefecture.
2008 Chichibu Distillery commenced whisky production.
2011 Venture Whisky released the first single malt whisky from Chichibu Distillery.
